What Is Hybrid Weed?

Hybrid strains can be a combination of any plant varieties and will typically depict phenotypes that are either sativa-dominant, indica-dominant, or equally balanced. Hybrid weed plants may also contain genetics from ruderalis varieties, a third variety of the cannabis plant that isn’t dependent on light exposure to start flowering, a process known as “auto-flowering.”

What Is the Difference Between Sativa and Indica and Hybrid?

Hybrid strains currently rule the market, as most marijuana cultivars are either Sativa-dominant or Indica-dominant due to crossbreeding over generations. Hybrid weed effects tend to be more balanced as the marijuana is some combination of Sativa and Indica. Sativa-dominant strains are known to be more energizing, making them ideal for daytime use. Indica-dominant strains are more relaxing, making them a good choice with which to unwind in the evening.
